Excellent film-it has everything a story is supposed to have. A flawed protagonist who learns and changes-something so missing from many lauded films like 'Birdman'. All the supporting characters have their own flaws and goals/obstacles, unlike the supporting cardboard cutouts in 'Birdman'. Reviewers didn't like it because it doesn't have a 'gimmick' like 'Birdman' or 'Boyhood'. Reviewers love gimmicks.

Hanging out with Keith and Holly in this kindly, observant movie is a perfectly pleasant way to pass ninety-odd minutes.

This is just one of those movies. It's easy to sit through and it's entertaining whilst watching it but it's easily forgotten afterwards. I usually like movies that Hugh Grant are in, even if I'm starting to get tired of him as an actor. Seeing as he always plays the same type of person with the same type of accent. But it's great when you want to kill some time.

Hugh Grant toont dat hij zijn acteerkwaliteiten nog lang niet verloren, en draagt deze verrassend geslaagde romantische komedie tot een beter niveau. Zijn chemie met Marisa Tomei valt goed in plaatst en het plot valt niet in de nodige clichés waar je zou denken dat het heen zou gaan. Dit is de romantische film die je op Valentijn zou moeten kijken dit jaar !
