Takes some time to really get going, but much easier to enjoy in Legend Films colorization - too bad MST3K and Legend subsidiary Rifftrax have not yet combined elements on such obvious crossovers yet. Bob Kinoshita's detailed design work looks even more superb in color, making the plentifully dull passages much more passable.

This is a great film with a funny alien. While I was watching the film I noticed how the movie might appeal to science fiction fans. It also was not the worst film MST3K has reviewed. I think it was a fun episode and the movie was a great choice. It has many ideas put out there and the Solarites do look funny. I enjoyed the film and the episode together. It was fun to watch but also enjoyable to see what a science fiction like this one from 1961 would look like.

1/5. The Phantom Planet is a pretty boring movie. The only noteworthiness aspect of it is the miniatures used in the space travel scenes, which are pretty adorable. The rest of the movie is a snooze-fest.

One of the worst sci-fi movies ever. Leaves you with a "WTF was that moment" with every turn. People can shrink just by breathing? Didn't know that. So bad, watch it twice.

Not a bad sci-fi outing ,and considering it's out of the cheap bin, pretty good looking. Standard rocket gets sucked into a mysterious planet with a bunch of yokels who want the astronauts to stay, and a monster shows up. The ending pissed me off though.
