A very heartbreaking film!! Steiger's greatest performance a definate must!! See a great actor at his best! My favorite acting performance in the history of film!

Rod Steiger plays a depressed and guilt ridden Holocaust survivor in this film. His performance is very low key, but powerful. Jaime Sanchez really brings the heart into this depressing story playing a character who idolizes Rod Steiger.

An amazingly acted & directed punch to the gut. Check out Ralph Rosenblum's great book for a look at the editing of this picture. It's called, When Shooting Stops.

A dramatic, remarkable, worthy directorial successor to 12 Angry Men from Sidney Lumet and Rodney Steiger in one of the greatest performances of all time. 100/100

The sort of old timey cinema that still played by one too many theater rules, but even mediocre Lumet is usually worth a gander. If you need a break from summer's lite cinematic fare, curl up with your favorite anti-depressents, queu this up on Netflix, and enjoy!
