Genuinely entertaining film adaptation of the successful Broadway musical, Doris Day leads a pajama factory in strike action while falling in love with the superintendent, John Raitt reprising his stage role. The plot is complete froth but the film is tightly constructed and fast-paced, with Bob Fosse's choreography lifting what would be an otherwise very ordinary offering. Day is lovely and Raitt's polished Sid Sorokin make for a fine pairing but solid dance numbers outshine the music leaving us, ultimately, holding the bag.

En ole kauheesti musikaalien ystava, mutta tama oli kylla aika hyva. Hyvat vekkulit koreografiat ja biisit. Eika tarinakaan huono ollut.

I guess I shouldn't be so shocked that there aren't other reviews for this. But if you like musicals, you'll appreciate this one. Cute plot, and great catchy songs. Plus, the choreography's top-notch.
