Been a long time since a movie as entertaining as this came around. Trust me, this feels like how movies used to be made, with entertaining the audience as the main priority without cramming ideology down your throat. More of this please.

Awesome movie. We need more of this. I wish they expanded more on the story. Perhaps it needed to be a three hour movie. But the acting and the development overall was great. I also really loved the symbolism and the representaion of Odin andAwesome movie. We need more of this. I wish they expanded more on the story. Perhaps it needed to be a three hour movie. This is a good movie! This will go down as a Viking-movie classic. What I like about it most is that it played out like a Nordic myth — I feel like the plot of this movie would have been told to the people of its time. 8/10 in my view, but anything higher is reasonable.

The Northman is wild, startling, fascinating, and phenomenal at once, but hopefully it’s just the beginning of Eggers regularly being handed sizeable budgets to deliver more sprawling near-masterpieces.
