I didn't see this movie as deep or emotional in any way...it just made me think "Wow, that's terrible", and it might've worked if there was an actual plot, but unfortunately there was none. I felt really sick to my stomach though.

UNA HISTORIA DE UN JOVEN AFECTADO POR LA MUERTE DE SU MADRE Y POCA RELACION CON SU PADRE, LEJOS DE TENER UNA VIDA COMO LA DE CUALQUIERA DE SU EDAD, LA ACTUACION ES ENRIQUECIDA POR PARTE DE EMILE HIRSCH. LA MEJOR QUE LE HE VISTO.

It's a bit diffucult to think that Scotty Smalls grew up to do such bad things to another guy... Really sad, disturbing film about not being able to fit in with your peer group because of a death in the family as well as trying to figure out your own identity while living so far away from any semblance of a town. Emile Hirsch has made many interesting character choices in the last 6 years - it's good to see that he's not afraid of playing someone like Duncan Mudge.

One of the indie breakout films from one of the best Sundance years of recent memory in 2003, which is credited for breaking out the actor Emile Hirch. Could be pigeon holed for the Ozzy Stunt of biting the head off of a living thing, but ends up being an interesting character study. Worth looking for rent.

Dude, this movie effed me up. I felt like I was watching Boys Don't Cry. You just KNEW something bad was going to happen. I hate that sense of foreboding!!! But Hirsch was great and just broke my heart. Good but creepy movie. Watch at your own risk.
