The Model (2016)

When emerging fashion model Emma gets a chance to pursue her dream of becoming an international top model, she leaves her everyday life in Denmark behind, and moves to Paris. At a photo shoot in her new hometown, she meets the attractive photographer Shane White and they fall in love. But their relationship soon turns into a dangerous obsession for Emma.

Crash and burn story of a young woman in the fashion industry. Left more to be desired. Weak story. Stereotyped male roles. Very obviously aimed at the bewildered and confused world of young women who so often pin their hopes and dreams on making it as a fashion model.

The screenplay by Matthiessen and co-writers Martin Pieter Zandvliet and Anders Frithiof August is compelling up until the melodramatic, credulity-straining final act, although the characters, apart from Emma, feel underdeveloped.
