This was a great movie that exposed the toxic effects of masculinity. It would be beneficial to show it to young boys in middle school to make them aware of how they're socialized into their gender.

Yes, the content of the documentary is presented to provide evidence.. however the argument is basically that all the problems in our society are from males receiving messaging to 'be a man!', and not allowed to be emotional. I was hopeful that the documentary would be more thoughtful and investigate in depth the challenges that a few boys had on their journey... Instead it is just a barrage of folks trying to shake responsibility for actions and their lack of coping on society telling them to be tough and hyper masculine through families, media, video games, sport. I am as equally annoyed by the message that they cannot be masculine as I am by those that feel they cannot be soft/emotional/feminine... Roles in the world are important- it just shouldn't be determined on birth.
