It is amazing how much was done on such a miniscule budget. The only thing about the film that is utterly ridiculous is the alien, otherwise it is moody and atmospheric with decent performances and a good pacing to the film. Well written story.

Sorti a la meme epoque que "War of the worlds" et "The Thing", un film de SF basique, sans pretention. Le propos du film reste tout de meme tres actuel, renvoyant au theme abordes dans le recent District 9, a savoir la peur de l'autre et la difference. Une realisation sans fioritures. Comme beaucoup de film de SF des annees 50, c'est retro mais toujours furieusement d'actualite. Un divertissement honnete sans grande surprises.

Classic sci-fi about contact with an alien life form, while on the low end of '50s sci-fi as opposed to '50s classics like "Forbidden Planet", "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", it's entertaining if you're a sci-fi fan like myself

A spaceship from the fast approaching Planet X (Nibiru?) lands in the Scottish Moors near a space observatory. The alien inside uses mind control to turn his host humans into brain dead zombies after he feels slighted by a human scientist's curiosity. Released before the big name sci-fi flicks which started the craze during this era (e.g., Invaders from Mars, The War of the Worlds, When Worlds Collide, The Thing from Another World ), this B movie is creative, well acted, and decently directed. The limited budget keeps it from attaining the heights of its potential, but is still worth a watch.
