Otra genial pelÃcula de Bergman. En "El Rostro" se recogen quizÃ¡s las experiencias de Bergman en su paso por el Teatro. En ella, los personajes son amados y aclamados mientras usan sus mÃ¡scaras en el escenario, pero cuando muestran sus verdaderos rostros, las relaciones se vician llegando a distorcionar la realidad y mostrando la verdadera dimensiÃ³n de las relaciones humanas entre los personajes. Una vez mÃ¡s el humor negro y Ã¡cido de Bergman se recogen en los diÃ¡logos y relaciones de los personajes, quienes actÃºan con inusual cinismo y ridÃculo. Excelente!

Splendid, absurd, preposterous, mysterious, comic ghost story. A rationalist hopes to expose a traveling "mesmerist" -- and, incidentally, to seduce his wife. But the mesmerist is killed during one of his tricks. The rational doctor performs an autopsy on the corpse, alone in an attic. But the door is locked. And the corpse may not be dead at all. Max von Sydow, Gunnar Bjornstrand, Ingrid Thulin, Naima Wifstrand and the rest of Bergman's stock company, all superb, Gorgeously photographed. Each still could be a work of art.
