Four collections of brothers makes the casting interesting, but the movie is simply average. There is a stark bleakness to the story, as well as a great knife fight. But other than that its a standard version of the Jesse James story.

Saw this when I was 10 years old with my Uncle. The Northfield Raid still sticks in my memory. One of the best Ry Cooder soundtracks I've ever heard.

A rather interesting western about the James and Younger gang, cast with several sets of real-life brothers in the various parts. Everyone does pretty solid work in their roles (David Carradine is especially memorable), though I do have to admit the movie could've used an extra 30 minutes to flesh out its characters a bit more. It's definitely worth a viewing though if for no other reason than the amazing shootout toward the end that rivals the finale of THE WILD BUNCH for sheer brutality.

I cried in this movie, i always used to say "I shot Jesse James" but i dont no more, because i kind of know what he was like, i never knew he had a kid or a wife.. i just thought he was a lonely old cowboy.
