The Last Confederate: The Story of Robert Adams (2005)

Amid the bitter divisiveness of the Civil War, Confederate Capt. Robert Adams (Julian Adams) feels the rift within his soul. Steadfastly loyal to the South, Adams also holds an unshakable love for his Northerner wife, Eveline McCord (Gwendolyn Edwards). Based on the true story of Robert Adams and produced by his descendents, this stirring historical drama -- a film festival favorite -- delves into the themes of honor, patriotism and love.

Interesting as it is based on a true story, but rather slow moving.

Wonderful story, but execution of it was a little disappointing. I would have liked to see more in the prison and more of the fighting instead of fight cut fight cut prison. but the small battles were a way for the movie to be made cheaply. What an honor it must have been to be a direct descendant of Robert Adams and his wife. Acting was decent as well, even for the lead actor who is an Adams. I like it a lot. Cinematography was bland, but I got over it. The dialogue was rich in aesthetics, partly because the two main characters are teachers, and the language of the mid0-1800's was completely different from ours now.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. I watched the whole thing for the same reason people slow down past car accidents, plus I am in awe of Micky Rooney. I am glad he as appeared in movies after this so this wont be remembered as his last

Think of Southerners telling a story from the civil war period..and telling only "their" side. The black slaves are smiling, everyone is well-dressed, well-fed and prosperous...and travel in a war zone is safe, fast and done wearing clean clothes. Yeah, right. Combine that with truly AWFUL acting and you have this movie. I watched it...'nuff said.
