Inspired by real events leading to the downfall of a famous Italian company, this turns out to be an entertaining economic thriller and morality tale. While I find some of the plot twists and development befuddling, I can only chalk it down to cultural differences. Otherwise, it is a tightly paced and well acted piece (though with a TV movie feel) and a fascinating piece of education by cinema.

Very soon it becomes clear that this film is really about Parmalat (and thus about one of the largest bankruptcies in the history of Italy). However: the film is never compelling. The only thing that is worthwile of this film is that Toni Servillo is in the lead role.
