Why do people run this film down, I cant stand Ricky Gervais, but this film just works for me, his mum dying made me cry, yes its far from perfect, but its still nice

Loved it! we watched it in religion through film class and i thought it was really interesting to point out all of the religions that it covers in a comedic way that kept high schoolers interested.

Absolutely great. Inventive original story written by one of my favorite comedians, Ricky Gervais. It is the story of a world in which lying does not exist and one man who becomes able to lie and uses it to change his life. I think this movie is highly underrated. Some may hate it because they see it as blasphemous, but it really raises interesting questions about the nature of religion,and the reasons people want to believe. The writing is great, and the acting superb. Thanks to the deadpan humor, I was laughing out loud, and at times it was even really sad, but the overall message was one of hope, one of looking beyond the superficial to see the good in the world. I think it is a wonderful movie and would recommend it to anyone.

i think i liked this. i remember laughing. but i suppose it was pretty forgettable. huge fan of Ricky and Jennifer though!
