Some amusing characters, somewhat overwrought and dated, but an interesting period piece dealing with how the children of a pastor felt anything but the warmth and comfort of growing up in a religious household as well as the loneliness of being a pastor as everyone suspects he will be pious and judgmental instead of supportive and understanding.

A great cast in a movie adapted from the stage, but not really a Christmas classic, although worth a one-time watch. But unlike real classic Christmas stories, it is not one you'd want to watch every year.

Flixster added this movie for me! Thanks! This movie is touching and thoughtful. The synopsis mentions that the story is about an English minister's Christmas family reunion, but what it doesn't mention is the family tension, secrets, and broken relationships that everyone brings with them. It's really touching to watch the family work their way toward healing.
