The Happiness of the Katakuris (2002)

The Katakuri family has just opened their guest house in the mountains. Unfortunately their first guest commits suicide and in order to avoid trouble they decide to bury him in the backyard. Things get way more complicated when their second guest, a famous sumo wrestler, dies while having sex with his underage girlfriend and the grave behind the house starts to fill up more and more.

A family-friendly musical with zombies, claymation, kooky Japanese humor, and Takashi Miike - how could I NOT love Happiness of the Katakuris?!

Takashi is one of the most exciting directors alive today. This film is perfect proof. Don't take time asking why strange things happen, just enjoy them.

Honestly one of the best movies EVER. This movie is better than Jesus! Seriously! Anyway, to get to the point, I have never seen a better foreign comedy. Period. I have yet to come across someone who saw this movie and disliked it, and DAMN if a lot of the songs weren't catchy. whether you like musicals, comedies, horror, kids movies, romantic comedies, stop-animation, or any other genre except old-westerns, this movie has something for you.
