This is an alright movie. Critiquing a film like this isn't really fair because the story is touching, especially if you followed Matt Hamill's MMA career. As a movie, a lot of parts were a bit bland but it got the point across and stuck with a successful formula. The acting was well done by the cast. Definitely worth the rent.

The Hammer is a inspiration film with a good amount of heart. A few scenes felt amateurish in their directing but that's my only real complaint. Also the rock music was a bitl over played in some parts of the movie.I enjoyed Russell Harvard's portrayal of Matt Hamill and Michael Anthony Spady's job of Jay.Overall I would recommend seeing it if you can.

It was a great Deaf culture 101 film, but...I think the story could have been fleshed out more. The relationship between Mark Hamill and his girlfriend was not really expressed, else why would two opposites attract each other.. The film was only about Matt Hamill, but I would have liked to see more development of other characters such as Kristi and Jay. Inspiring story, nonetheless.
