Eight years after fleeing the Congo following his assassination of that country's minister of mining, former assassin Jim Terrier is back, suffering from PTSD and digging wells to atone for his violent past. After an attempt is made on his life, Terrier flies to London to find out who wants him dead -- and why. Terrier's search leads him to a reunion with Annie, a woman he once loved, who is now married to an oily businessman with dealings in Africa.

Some of the critics have it out for Sean Penn! This was a fine film. Really grabbed me from start to finish. Solid performances, beautifully photographed, great score, strong script and the usual impeccable performance from Penn. Some body is buying off the critics as bad as the corporations are buying politicians. The critics fate will eventually be that no one will pay any attention to them. Thank God for home theater where we can make up our own minds and follow your own instincts. I didn't think Penn would be part of something as bad as the critics portrayed. See it and let me know what you think. This was a very good thriller.

Perhaps there are too many scenes showing Sean's ripped body, but at 60 and looking that good - I'd want to flaunt it too.

Strong / solid action film. Sean Penn does a solid job and some of the action sequences are really well done! Tad slow in parts however WELL worth the ticket price for entertainment. Penn's best bad ass role since mystic river

I like Sean Penn as an actor - I think he does a great job, knows his limits, talent and abilities. He made it believable enough for me. Action movie - you bet. I thought well paced. After reading the reviews I was a little doubtful. No more. Critics missed on this pitch as far as I'm concerned.
