A corny saga of social and generational conflict, it's ultimately yet another Chinese period epic that functions as a thinly veiled treatise on the nobility of socialist equality.

Too much flashy CG at the beginning then they ran out of funding for the rest of the movie. Government secret ops were wiped out by their own official in hopes of tying up loose ends & in favor of using firearms over martial arts.

the director's name "andrew lau" can quarantee the movie SUCK (since the storm riders) with the bad mv style edited and kindergarten screenplay !!!

Maybe this movie shouldn't be call The Guillotines, but call it the canon or guns! This movie do not make the guillotine shine! The worriers will just die without even lifting the weapon! Stupid! But this China made movie has better acting than others and quite a good story, even though it doesn't show much of the guillotines!
