The shortest way to say this is to quote Rainn Wilson: "Good, not great." The Grand is a decent improvisational comedy overflowing with popular celebrities including David Cross, Richard Kind, Mike Epps, Woody Harrelson and two of my favorite actor/comedians Ray Romano and Chris Parnell, both of whom have some very funny scenes. However The Grand drags out more than it should, but the unscripted ending is a pleasantry - I recommend a rental upon it's (hopeful) dvd release.

Best part of the film was obviously Werner Herzog. At times too over the top and at other times played too seriously. Nonetheless it was an interesting concept and did a good job at mocking poker tournaments. (the announcer bits were too much though) The 'improv' thing has been done quite a bit lately. This film didn't pull it off as well as a show like Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it made for an interesting film nonetheless.

The film is not much more than a gusher of oddball character sketches and ricocheting gags, but its manic pace and over-the-top inventiveness make The Grand a solid bet.

You just have to love the cast in this film. Woody may be well known but he sure doesn't need the big hollywood films to get himself noticed. (aside from Semi-Pro) This film really shows how flawlessly versitile he is. David Cross was an excellent addition along with Chris Parnell, who was absolutly hilarious and so creative with the 'Dune' obsession.

some scenes are on par with guest's movies (which are fantastic!) and the characters are all unique and likeable. this was a very funny movie, especially if you're able to understand what poker players they're lampooning at times.
