The Food of the Gods (1976)

Morgan and his friends are on a hunting trip on a remote Canadian island when they are attacked by a swarm of giant wasps. Looking for help, Morgan stumbles across a barn inhabited by an enormous killer chicken. After doing some exploring, they discover the entire island is crawling with animals that have somehow grown to giant size. The most dangerous of all of these, however, are the rats, who are mobilizing to do battle with the human intruders.

Pretty cool for a 70's movie. I can't remember if I've seen this before, I remember my friend kept talking about it when I was a kid. Anyways, it was pretty enjoyable the didn't do to bad on the giant animals for considering when it was made. I think the insects were the only things that I had the biggest issue with, but they only had a short part in the movie.

This is one of the very best awful movies ever. "Giant" rats, chickens (with human knees), worms, and wasps, Oh my!

The Rat Pack, huh? Classic Eco Horror of 1976. Follows much the lead from "Night of the Lepus" or "Birds" but this time the rats play the leading roles. We also encounter som huge Wasps and some evil arm-biting Larvae and some overgrown chickens as well. Much of this movie works out as any kind of good thriller, it's just the rats scenes that becomes a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the rats are the size of some big dogs. a minute later they are the size of big horses just to shrink back to dog-size a moment after that. But any lover of Eco-horror will have a blast here. The attacked cast consist of heroes, a confused farmer lady, an evil entreprenour, the warmhearted biologist and the couple that are pregnant and a bit stupid at the same time. Scenes varies from nice looking to plain silly, just like they should in theese kind of movies
