The camera angles in this movie gave so much to it, the acting of the main character, the old school special effects were top notch even with such a low budget, the movie is scary and funny wich is kinda weird, also gotta love some old gore, just loving it

The Evil Dead is easily one of the best horror films that I have ever seen. Sam Raimi used his low budget to the fullest. The protagonist, Ash Williams, is just so AWESOME. The films story isn't really all that original but I can easily look past that. The film is also not for the faint of heart. It is VERY brutal and gory. In the end, I love this film to death and it is just so great.

Much funnier & campy than the remake. Evil Dead 2 is the same exact movie remade with a higher budget, same Actors, Director etc. 2 is the BEST. Gross & hilarious, & scary too! What 1, then 2 right after or the next day. Enjoy these classics!

The fact that this film was a genuine passion project translates very well on screen and totally compensates for the lack of acting experience displayed. The great practical effects that have a visibly personal artistic touch really push this movie over the top for me.
