Ultimately, The Devil and Father Amorth is less a test of one's faith and more a test of one's patience.

Whatever the case, you’re better off rewatching the fake Linda Blair movie.

While providing incredibly rare insight, The Devil and Father Amorth is an overly-jumbled, overwrought documentary experience whose reach unfortunately exceeds its grasp.

I didn't think this documentary was done very well at all, for starters they needed to present a more compelling case for possession. I suspect the woman that was supposedly possessed was suffering from religious hysteria rather than an actual possession, It was all very cliche and unconvincing and it was obvious they had distorted her voice for the 'theatrical effect'. Shame, it is such an interesting topic and I think it could have been done so much better.

The film is unquestionably a curio for converts rather than the meatier exploration it will leave many sceptics (including this one) hankering after, but it leaves you with plenty to chew on – along with that Satanic cadence echoing in your bones.
