It's a crude, bleak, slow-moving and pretentious picture of life in a dusty oil producing town in Kansas.

this is not a bad film, it's just not a great film. If you like atmosphere you may find certain sequences quite beautiful, but the story is thin, very thin. this movie was made in the 90's, but seems set in the 80's...but then again it's set in Kansas, so who knows, just sayin'.
