A film make in the late 70s with a monster that would have been bad in the 50s.

Movie covers so many bases (slapstick, horror, police chase, sci-fi, claymation) and is a mess for it. Director shows some technique with eerie lake shots but the flow switches from tension to goofball in a heartbeat. Bad movie lovers only.

Exciting set-up in the tradition of the classic monster film. But the story crashes and burns so fast it is unbelievable. The interesting characters, that where the main focus at the start, are pushed into the background and the movie begins to circle the drain as two annoying rednecks provide "comic relief" from the absent tension. There is huge amount of confusion as the scenes randomly switch between night and day throughout the movie and the viewer has no idea what time of day it is supposed to be. One particularly comical example of this is when a woman talks about the "beautiful moon and stars" she sees, but it is so bright out they must have filmed the scene at noon. The hidden gem in this movie (which does make it worth watching) is the monster itself, which is surprisingly well animated in a Harryhausen style but there is not nearly enough of it.

It's not sure if it's a comedy or a drama. Not bad stop-motion. Could have been a mst3k movie.

65% "I wouldn't miss this hoe down for nothin'."-Arnie Chabot (Glenn Roberts) Unless you're a horrible movie lover, you'll definitely want to skip this mess. Painfully long, cardboard charaters, and the special effects consist of a plastic dinosaur head shot in a crystal clear swimming pool. As for the stop-motion claymation, well, to bad Ray Harryhausen wasn't around. A drunken midnight movie.
