This movie was deep and moving. It brought out so many things we fail to put into words and I often felt the puppet was a metaphore for the lies we tell ourselves to deal with a life gone wrong.

I thought that this movie was unusual, touching, sad, and beautiful. I don't understand why so many people disliked it. I'm not a Mel Gibson fan, but thought he did a good job.

Any man going through a depression of this type should watch this movie. The Beaver has become my new wallpaper, sometimes you just have to blow it up and start over....

An incongruous mix of fable and realism, giddiness and gloom, The Beaver gnaws off more than it can chew, but Mel Gibson's earnest performance and Jodie Foster's able direction shore up the dam.

This film really surprised me. Mel Gibson's acting is superb, maybe some of his finest in the more recent years. He is backed by great performances from Foster and Yelchin which makes this movie shine. The different moods this film passes through astounded me. At moments I felt like laughing like crazy, then wanting to cry, being angry, and finally peace. This is a bold movie and kudos to Foster for directing it.
