a nice little thriller that has some intense moments and then there are some questionable things but just go with it and it'll be good. Scott Glenn is the reason this movie holds together. he has the character down and keeps you guessing through the whole film. not a bad watch but don't go out of your way to find it, happen to stumble across the film and want something decent, go ahead.

The Barber is a slick but ultimately underwhelming psychochiller.

What remains rote is how easily the fiend’s victims fall for his tricks. It’s almost as if they’ve seen too many movies like The Barber, and shaved away all common sense.

A premise that we have seen multiple times before is tried again, but this time it adds a little something new to the mix. Scott Glenn does a great job as the title character and plays his character with the right amount of mystery. There are a few nice twists towards the end, some you will see coming and some you won't. It's nothing that breaks new ground or the best in its genre but Glenn makes it watchable. C-

The acting and the direction shows enough promise to keep it from being buried alive, but it might not be the worst idea to put it out of its misery and ignore it.
