Only Glenn, whose taciturn performance is punctuated by flashes of genuine menace, lifts The Barber to "watchable."

It's a nice first feature from director Basel Owies, who has an eye for nuanced characters with a dark side.....

A premise that we have seen multiple times before is tried again, but this time it adds a little something new to the mix. Scott Glenn does a great job as the title character and plays his character with the right amount of mystery. There are a few nice twists towards the end, some you will see coming and some you won't. It's nothing that breaks new ground or the best in its genre but Glenn makes it watchable. C-

Good acting and sharp editing make The Barber a most engrossing serial killer thriller. But too much talk, mostly in a lecturing over-explained finale, almost undoes all of that.

dull, bland, uninspired, boring and terribly written and acted, The Barber is a whodunnit mystery that never results in anything more than a dud. it's had some promise, but when it was over I was annoyed I wasted an hour and a half of my time on it.
