What is art, and how should it be distributed and appreciated? In collector Barnes' case, what are ownership and ideals, and how long can they be maintained? An intriguing look at commercialism and conservation.

Saw this at the New York Film Festival and this was by far one of the BEST documentaries I have ever seen in a while. Basically what I've learned is that your will doesn't mean anything and the fallout that ensues behind this.

The filmmakers are only interested in exploring their own opinion, but the documentary is fascinating nonetheless.

It plays like a riveting thriller. Utterly phenomenal. A must see. This shows that no will can stand up to money and -in this case- political power. These politicians and charitable trusts should be ashamed of themselves.

Despite the unsubtlety of the movie’s stance, a dizzyingly complex portrait emerges: that of pissed-off museum neighbors, arrogant critics and even the NAACP’s dignified Julian Bond, articulating a racial component.
