Very touching drama. Saw this at the Tribeca Film Festival. Mariah did great in her role, you forgot it was MC for a moment. Interesting character study type movie.

Mariah Carey is perfectly fine playing a waitress who dreams of becoming, yes, a singer -- even if the superstar's presence in such a small venture seems jarring.

So the big question is -- how was Mariah? Surprisingly, Mrs. Cannon was the light in an otherwise morbid and boring film. She had flair, swagger and a convincing Texas accent.
