Tanzania: A Journey Within (2014)

He's from a place so old it's been called the cradle of mankind. She's led a privileged life in America without hardship or pain. Together these two unlikely friends embark upon a journey from the heights of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the depths of an AIDS ravaged village where even the smallest children become outcasts at the mere hint of the disease and malaria is an ever-present threat. As Venance and Kristen experience the ancient culture, heart-breaking poverty, and eternal spirituality of Venance's motherland, the ability of the Tanzanian people to love, dream, and persevere in the face of overwhelming hardship triggers a life-changing transformation in Kristen—one that brings her face to face with her own mortality and will ultimately cause thousands of lives to be saved. Tanzania: A Journey Within is a dramatic, emotional, and visually stunning odyssey that will challenge and inspire you.

This film shows what was clearly a profound set of experiences for both Ndibalema and Kenney, but it is not much more than a well-made vacation slideshow or an extended Facebook post, complete with exclamation points.

Was a heartwarming story with 2 friends that came together from 2 worlds and together made one heart for Africa. Her passionate dream to return and help 10's of thousands of people came true and it shows that there is a power of one.

A privileged and beautiful young woman and her African friend do good in Tanzania and determine that experiences are more important than things.

The documentary “Tanzania: A Journey Within” is two travel diaries woven together. One is somber and moving. The other is distractingly annoying.

Tanzania takes you on a heartfelt journey filled with amazing visuals. This film really moved me and reminded me what a great country we live in while others around the world still struggle for things we take for granted. I really enjoyed the humor that presents itself throughout the film as well. Its a little unexpected but its great.
