It's a fascinating approach to the storytelling formula, but eventually fails to provide an enveloping psychological study, buried underneath Polley's preference for artificial melancholy.

This was great. First of all, I love Sarah Polley's work, and this was no exception. The story itself wasn't super unique, but it was the way that it was done and the job that the actors did with the characters. The portrayal of Toronto was excellent, right down to the sound of it. I think you have to have lived there and then not lived there to noticed how accurate those details were. This is worthwhile to see.

This is the first movie in years I walked out on, even asked and got my money back. The cinema manager said he understood as everyone was saying how bad it was. Badly written drivel, come on the woman's wants to write, the man is an artist who pulls a rickshaw! The in and out Of focus, the angst..
