considering the fact that madge isn't cut out to act, this film wasn't that bad.

Just when you think you can root for the deckhand, he becomes mean and abusive.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one, and my asshole would just like to say, "I absolutely adored Swept Away!". There was just something about it I fell for, which I can't place. I guess it just all worked for me. I feel Madonna did her best and it really shows. I've seen many of the absolute worst performances in countless horrible films, but Madonna as Amber is not one of them. Don't listen to overrated critics who shit on this film before it was even made, try watching it for yourself and develop your own opinion. If you don't like it, move on.

I would like to see the original for comparison, but if you can stand Madonna, you can certainly stand to see her in this role, which is the only decent character she's ever played in my opinion. The Italian guy helps a lot. Especially when he says 'feeshes.'

I think the bad acting is what made the film so good!
