A beautiful lonely girl named Melissa tries to make new friends from a town she's currently living in. The only problem is, each of the boys that she spends time with end up brutally murdered. Her sixteenth birthday is on the way, but Melissa turns out to be a suspect when it seems she's the last person who has seen her boyfriends alive.

A serial killer on the loose in a small town. This is not a popular title, but I find it an interesting thriller-mystery. I don't know the cast, but I liked them all decently. It is a murder mystery that takes place in a small town where a sheriff investigates the recent brutal knife attacks with all the possibility angle. All the victims were teenage boys, who are associated with the new girl in the town. Definitely you will begin to predict the suspect, that much the film evolves a bridge between you and the contents. It was a great story, I was stunned for its underrated status and for going unnoticed, but then it ended very cheaply. To me the conclusion ruined the rhythm, otherwise the rest of the film was amazing and worth a watch. I hope somebody would remake it with some changes, especially in the final act and its twist. Overall surely it was a fine film, a mix of the teen theme and the cop story, obviously excluding the bad ending. 6/10

Great, underrated slasher/mystery with a phenomenal cast and some real skill behind the camera. On the outside, Sweet Sixteen might seem like your typical teenage slasher movie, but upon further inspection, one will discover a surprisingly subdued and adult affair. There's some interesting and likable characters here for once and an actual story line, complete with backstories and subplots. Aleisa Shirley is fantastic as the troubled Melissa, the new girl in town who has already found a way with the town's male population. It's a true shame that she seems to have disappeared from the film scene. Another notable aspect of Sweet Sixteen is its haunting title song "Melissa" Take a little time to seek this one out. You might be pleasantly surprised! A new special edition from the wonderful Code Red/BCI has just been released with some great special features and TWO different versions of the movie. It's worth your money!

The film may generate a little bit more interest this year because "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" seems to have taken a little inspiration from it.

This teen's milestone birthday ends up more sour than sweet. That is bound to happen when locals in your small Texas town turn up dead on the night of your birthday party.

This small 80?s movie cannot decide whether it wants to be a slasher flick or a small town crime drama. Be that as it may, the debate is null and void whenever young Melissa (Aleisa Shirley) walks about with her tits and bush hanging out (and she plays a ?15? year-old, yeah right!!!), flirting with the local boys who wind up getting knifed by an unseen lunatic. Melissa keeps blaming the local natives, while the local Sheriff (Bo Hopkins, whose fun to watch) tries to solve the clues. Everyone?s a suspect, but in the end, it winds up being kinda lame. On top of that, the movie is slightly boring. Oh well, like I said?15-year-old titties and bushes. Disclaimer: She?s not really 1 years old, folks, but they really presented her age and nudity in a slightly pedophiliac way.
