Summer Magic (1963)

Mother Carey, a Bostonian widow, and her three children move to Maine. Postmaster Osh Popham helps them move into a run-down old house and fixes it up for them. It's not entirely uninhabited, though; the owner, Mr. Hamilton, is a mysterious character away in Europe, but Osh assures them he won't mind their living there, since he won't be coming home for a long time yet.

Great coming-of-age tale with unforgettable music. I loved it and I really wanna see it again soon.

Was there meant to be a sequel to this film or was it cut short for some reason? I really enjoyed the film, even years later after watching it originally, but what gets me is that the film just stops. Hayley Mills finds out that the man she is dancing with is her â~Yellow Perilâ(TM) Tom Hamilton, but we donâ(TM)t find out what he is going to do with the house. Is he going to evict the Carey family and live there himself? Is he going to travel back to China, or is he going to sweep Nancy off her feet and live as one big happy family? Like I say, a good film, but still needs a few questions answered.

A sweet inoffensive story, which filled a couple of hours, but didn't hold my attention much as I'd hoped.

wow umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch....its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie.....i think that jimmy mathers, jim stacy, hilda plowright, eddie hodges, harry holcombe, hayley mills, burl Ives, deborah walley, dorothy mcGuire play good roles/parts throughout this movie.......i think that the director of this classics/comedy/kids/family movie had done a great job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie.....i think that this is a really good family movie 2 watch its really enjoyable n its a good classics disney movie 2 watch
