Sudden Fear (1952)

Actor Lester Blaine has all but landed the lead in Myra Hudson's new play when Myra vetoes him because, to her, he doesn't look like a romantic leading man. On a train from New York to San Francisco, Blaine sets out to prove Myra wrong...by romancing her. Is he sincere, or does he have a dark ulterior motive?

Crawford and Palance have an art in presenting us with the very best of mystery of suspense and they don't let us down here. The action is fabulous and the climax fantastic.

a dynomite film noir thriller...and joan once again is outstanding as a woman whos comes to learn her new hubby is out to kill her.

Slow moving and too long, but the second half is very effective. The conclusion is especially thrilling. The DVD needs an upgrade as it is too dark and faded.

Highly suspenseful film with many unexpected twists, though it seems there were just too many twists! Joan Crawford delivers a fine performance.
