Great movie, but with many high lows and love scenes.

This movie is all about its music. Amazing compositions by Vishal and Shekhar. Alia Bhatt truly impressed in the small role she was given. This would have been a lot more appealing had her role been expanded a bit, which would have given more depth to the narrative. Both leads Sid Malhotra and Varun Dhawan were solid, however their friendship seems a bit rushed and unexplained in the beginning. Script lacks that powerful bang that Karan Johar's movies normally offer though...not enough drama. It seems like another layer to the story of the competition and more time spent on how it ruined the relationships of the characters would have taken the story a lot further. However, an enjoyable experience in all.
