A fine example of lat 80s chic. A young Sting playing a solo on a contrabass is reason enough to see this film, but the Newcastle setting is also exploited for the smokiest, dreariest mood possible.

Jones works his machismo persona into a lather, but it's unclear what he's doing in this movie, so he's more a source of campy fun than menace.

Decent neo-noir, that's actually more of a romantic thriller. Where American gangster Tommy Lee Jones tries to move in on a British city in decline to carve out a piece for himself. Sting is actually pretty good in it. As is the chemistry between Bean and Griffith.
