Psychiatrist Sam Foster has a new patient, Henry Letham, who claims to be suicidal. In trying to diagnose him, Sam visits Henry's prior therapist and also finds Henry's mother -- even though Henry has said that he murdered both of his parents. As reality starts to contradict fact, Sam spirals into an unstable mental state. Then he finds a clue as to how and when Henry may try to kill himself, and races to try to stop him.

beautifully composed poetry in motion reminiscent of a japanese horror film but not quite so horrifying.

While most of the actors in this movie play their roles plainly, Ryan Gosling stands out. His performance will leave you speechless.

I can see why many did not like this movie as it requires a bit of thought while watching. We have become so used to being "entertained" and not challenged while watching movies today. There are clues throughout the entire movie. Throughout the entire movie, you see all those standing around Henry after the accident. You hear Henry say to him that he did nothing wrong, that he tire blew because he was right behind him. You see the car swerve and roll on the bridge. All accidents that occur like that on bridges are usually multi-car accidents. My opinion: They are all dead, but don't realize it yet so they "stay" and function as if they were still alive. Henry was the only one that figured it out. He stated, "I have to wake up now." When the emergency crews arrived you didn't see them talk to Lila or Sam or any of the characters standing around him. You then see Sam meeting Lila and asking her to coffee while visions (actual memories) of them together ran through his mind. A brilliant film of how we hold on to life, even when it's gone.

This was pretty much in my opinion the most amzingly unique, well written, well acted, well filmed movie I've seen in a while. I loved it!

What i liked about this film was that it was so thought provoking. This is one of those films where you try to figure it all out but u can't. and only in the end does it makes sense. Very artistic and have never seen a better editing job when it came to transitions between scenes.
