Radio version was definitely better than the movie version -- more suspense.

Fine hybrid noir/melodrama with some stunningly graceful tracking shots. Whilst its radio-play origins are apparent, it works extremely well in the final reel and still raises a shiver.

Suspenseful classic, Barbara Stanwyck, as always, is amazing. Exciting, well paced and good cinematography. Very well written and engrossing. Good supporting cast.

a movie that will make you hate Barbara Stanwyck. It's sort of like if Bette Davis as Mrs Skeffington were in a noir and you spend the whole film hoping for her to kick the bucket. A repulsive character but the film is saved by having an absolutely great ending that will cheer you up immensely.
