In the 1950s, a Japanese-American fisherman is suspected of killing his neighbour at sea. For Ishmael, a local reporter, the trial strikes a deep emotional chord when he finds his ex-lover is linked to the case. snow falling on cedars is a good move and is nice too. it tells about a wintry pacific northwest island community in 1950. A fisherman, stands for murder and also love between Ishmael a newspaper reporter and Hatsue the man on trial's wife. Starring by Anthony Harrison, Ethan Hawke, ..... Directed by Scott Hicks.

This film is like a moving piece of art. The story was good but a little boring, however the amazing cinematography outshone everything else in the film

This american love story was beautifully shot. I really appreciated how they relied on the camera to tell the viewer things that can't easily be put into words.

Hard to follow first time through. Good ending. Worked with a lady who had been in an internment camp. Few people really know this was real.
