Oh the high jinks of criticism....it's amazing how entertainment weekly and variety give it low ratings but other publications of today and young critics today love the film. I mean, Richard Roeper over at Sun Times had a more accurate critique than Peter Debruge here. I know to each his own, some will like it some will not. However, i always wonder which critics get paid under the table by the film industry to put out a good rating, and if you think that does not go on you are very much so mistaken.

Fascinating story. Reminded me of "Fresh."

Sleight takes a new albeit subtle twist to the peudo super hero genre. Slow paced with some simple and direct plot, the movie manages to engage you while events turn. The best thing about sleight aren't it's characters and storytelling but it's richly satisfying ending. A real gem and I wish it had a more eye catching title . However deliberate it's producers felt. A satisfying 4/5

Do see Sleight because it is a good movie. Sleight is a sweet slow burn. Based on the heated second half, I expect a bigger-budget sequel. If the sequel continues its urban slant, do have a few more significant and complex BW characters if you want more of us to come out and see the movie.

Sleight's payoff and take home messages are good enough to mostly forgive its glaring flaws.
