Simon and The Oaks covers the various paths taken by a sensitive and smart boy and then young man in his quest for meaning.

Lisa Ohlin's Simon and the Oaks has all the superficial elements of compelling drama but none of the interiority; it looks like a good movie without ever actually feeling like one.

Well made Swedish WWII film with good cinematography and production design. I wish it had a bit more emotional pull, but maybe a second viewing down the road will endear it more to me.
