Saw this last night it was AWESOME Jackie Chan is a brilliant actor and he's outdone himself in this one. Deals with some pretty intense issues (illegal immigrants, drugs, Tokyo gang warfare etc) with real substance. Plus it had some great subtle comic touches that only Jackie Chan could pull off. Not for the faint-hearted but to me the gore made it all the more real - a must see!! PS: Even though it was in Japanese and Chinese (spoken) with english subtitles, it wasn't even remotely confusing!! This one is yet another in a line of great movies to come out of China recently...

Showcase on the grimier side of society with abrupt violence flashing out between scenes. The tragic ending once again emphasizes that crime does not pay.

u may see the "new" image of daniel that u had ever seen before ga~ but there is yee tung shing who is one of my favourite director na~ the most horrible moment is not in the movie; is that i saw this movie with kayan ~ a good movie~ and the music (score) is good ar~ after i knew it's peter kam's work~

Quite a decent effort by Jackie Chan in the acting stakes. Hell i would prefer to watch him take out a few gangsters the old Jackie Chan style but its not to be in this film. Quite a serious subject matter about illegal Chinese immigrants in Japan and their battle to survive. Its no where in the league of the film 'Protege' with Andy Lau and i think Daniel Wu as well from memory but still a decent film with a superb HK cast. Special mention to Daniel Wu - really enjoying anything hes involved in and Bingbing Fan, wow - shes absolutely gorgeous. Just remember NO JACKIE CHAN MARTIAL ARTS IN THIS FILM!!!!

Intense! That was the 1st word I uttered after the movie ended. Director Derek Yee has outdone himself with this film. I've always thought he's great at making soppy romance films but i've never expected him to excel in such an intense film. He has also breathed new life into Jackie Chan's film career. This could be THE FILM that may propel Jackie into the league of serious actors & in my opinion, THE BEST project Jackie ever signed on to do. Just watching Jackie shed real tears is already worth the price of the ticket. What's more i got to see Jackie & Daniel in the flesh at the Gala Premiere! Thank you James, for inviting me. :)
