The difference between Shelley's first and second halves is stark in comparison, but thankfully it only gets better as the seconds pass.

Director Ali Abbasi excels at atmosphere, understanding that any beautiful landscape can be made terrifying with the right sound design and that a cut to a silent interior can be as jarring as any jump scare. His script, unfortunately, is not as interesting.

A risky and uncomfortable film, not suitable for sensitive people with the unusual virtue of not succumbing to the demands of a more commercial cinema. [Full review in Spanish]

Very eerie movie. Very well filmed. Makes you feel uneasy because you feel the tension getting thick throughout the movie. Every minute of the movie, the plot gets creepier and creepier. I actually really liked this movie. It was super artistic!! If you aren't into these independent type films, you would probably think it's boring and/or didn't make much sense like a lot of these 1/2 star and 0 star ratings are saying. I can see why this movie got 100%! Go watch it!
