The Shanghai of the 40's has been very well captured. In fact the selling point of the movie in my opinion. Not to forget some good dialouges. John Cusack & Chow Yun-Fat fit the roles of the American spy and the Chinese crime lord (respectively) to perfection. Li Gong is pretty as ever. Ken Watanabe impresses as well. 3/5. Can watch.

Love the cast of this movie. Gong Li is beautiful as always. An interesting look at World War II from an eastern perspective.

[7.5/10] It's an old-fashioned noir film, a throwback to the days where films like "The Maltese Falcon" were all the rage. Throw in some great and interesting actors and superb production value and you're in for one hell of a ride.
