85% Saw this on 20/9/16 Shahid is an explosive fact based drama about the unrecognised life of an activist. The courtroom scenes are tough and practically the best of its kind that I've seen from Indian films. Rajkumar Rao gives a much desrving perforamance in his National Award winning role.

Thankfully, the director doesn't over-dramatize events. He uses a restrained, subtle narrative to tell the audiences Shahid's story, rarely judging his motives or intentions.

An interesting film, which shows how an earnest pursuit of justice can become confused with an excuse to escape justice. This story follows a young muslim man who suffers injustice from rioters in Mumbai india. He escapes from a terrorist training camp, and instead pursues a law degree in order to fight the injustice of the Indian legal system. He decides to focus his practice on defending those accused of terrorism. This film was good because it allows the viewer to come to their own conclusion regard the morality of his behavior. Although some moments drag the film down into melodrama, I appreciated the distance the film maker provided so that one could form their own conclusions.

Excellent movie about a lawyer who fights for innocents jailed on terrorism charges.
