A revealing, disturbing look at how political and corporate forces have seemingly undermined the freedom and safety of our nation's equine population.

Nicolas Rapold 07 Dec 2012

Filled with crushing facts about animal cruelty yet also overstuffed and overwrought, it's emotionally and visually tough to watch.

Michelle Orange 21 Nov 2012

The sublime beauty of her subject cannot fail to move; less steady is this presentation of their plight.

Ronnie Scheib 07 Dec 2012

Clearer, more thoughtful editing would have greatly enhanced the effectiveness of this sometimes-revelatory documentary.

Frank Scheck 28 Nov 2012

Frequently slaughtered for consumption in Europe, their inhumane treatment as revealed here will surely prompt outrage among animal lovers as well as those concerned with health and environmental issues.
