Saturn 3 (1980)

In the future, Earth is overcrowded and the population relies on distant bases to be fed. In the Saturn 3 station, Major Adam and the scientist Alex, who is also his lover and has never been on Earth, have been researching hydroponics for three years in the base alone with their dog Sally. Captain Benson arrives Saturn 3 with Hector, incapable to controlling his emotions he transfers his homicidal tendency and insanity to Hector. Now Major Adam and Alex are trapped in the station with a dangerous psychopath robot.

I really couldn't get into this sci-fi film from famed director Stanley Donen("Singin in the Rain"). It seems like it is just trying to ride the space movie wave after "Star Wars" but doesn't work at all. I was intrigued by the cast which is why I decided to try it with Kirk Douglas, Farrah Fawcett and Harvey Keitel. The story is just too weak and the performances aren't great either. Skip it!

Saturn 3 remains a mere gender curio of the era. It's too rotten to be anything else.

A classic and kitch science-fiction movie. The story is very interesting and it's part of the first of this genre, mixing IA , robots, and slasher!

scared the crap out of me when i saw it as a double feature with empire strikes back as a kid. that big robot killed the dog!!
