A tender and brutal film, that is so stunning I think it's one of the best Australian films ever made. Amazing.

A harrowing and disturbingly realistic portrayl of the indigenous communities in remote communities. Samson and Delilah is a love story expressed with a lack of dialouge; for the most part this works well; but there are a few scenes that you feel the need for something to be said yet it just sits there stagnant. Especially some of the earlier scenes with Samson trying to "win over" Delilah the awkward interaction between the two is quite odd to watch when nothing is being said. That said it is quite a powerful film and is well worth checking out.

Scratch beneath the veneer of modern Australia and you will find an ugly place of extreme poverty, abandoned communities and exploitation. Bleak but completely compelling.

A slow-moving, frank, honest and beautifully shot film. It definitely won't be for everyone, but for those who can invest the time, this film rewards you with an accurate account of indigenous life. Sad and happy, tragic and moving - this film has it all.
