One of a kind movie experience. Minutely Detailed, Emotionally Moving and Raw. It's hard to believe that the actors in the movie are actors. What a direction !! and Top notch performances !! It'll stay in your mind long after you watch it. Must Watch !!

Samson and Delilah are two young Aborigines who decide to leave their tiny isolated town into the harsh unforgiving "real" world. The version I saw did not have English subtitles (it was in French) and more than half the spoken dialogue is in Aboriginal language but that doesn't matter because there was barely any actual dialogue in the film. What remains is a fascinating story of a journey between two young people. Excellent performances by the two leads. This is Australia's entry to the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar category. I hope it gets a nom.

A harrowing and disturbingly realistic portrayl of the indigenous communities in remote communities. Samson and Delilah is a love story expressed with a lack of dialouge; for the most part this works well; but there are a few scenes that you feel the need for something to be said yet it just sits there stagnant. Especially some of the earlier scenes with Samson trying to "win over" Delilah the awkward interaction between the two is quite odd to watch when nothing is being said. That said it is quite a powerful film and is well worth checking out.

Its very European and US Indie with its slow pace at the start. Its like the movie Candy in a way with heroin being replaced with petrol sniffing. I just have come back from Alice Springs and i've seen all the Aboriginal mobs on the Todd River and around town. Its such a clash of cultures. This goes some way to understand what the clash is like for them. What is the answer? I must say both leads perform so well - Marissa plays just such a strong person, who gets a bit distorted whilst in Alice. And Rowan - wow - if Heath Ledger does a good heroin addict - and Geoffrey Rush plays a mad pianist - Rowan does an amazing zonked out petrol sniffer.
