Romeo & Juliet: Sealed with a Kiss (2006)

A fully animated feature fantasy about two star crossed seals from warring families that fall in love against their parents' wishes. When Juliet's father gives her hand in marriage to the monstrous elephant seal Prince, Juliet must fake her death in order to be reunited with Romeo. But the plan goes afoul and it's a desperate race to the end. With the help of their friends Friar Lawrence and Kissy, the kissing fish, the day is saved and the young lovers are reunited. Romeo & Juliet: Sealed With a Kiss is the ageless tale of love and prejudice set in an undersea world. A film that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Even considering that this is trying to be a kid's version of R&J, it was still too silly for me. Some nice animation, but the seals are just too silly.

Though the ending I didn't care for, this movie on its own is actually a lot better than I thought. Give Phil some credit, he was the ONLY animator working on this, which he also directed a produced. Its not easy and took him 4 years to complete this film. I do see flaws here and there, and hardcore William Shakespeare fans wont enjoy this since it dose change a lot of the plays material and a few major characters. But with the High-budget crap in kids movies now a days and company's only trying to hip and all. I find this movie to be enjoyable. It certainly doesn't harm anyone.

While the movies are increasingly enamored with ever more elaborate computer animation, [director Phil Nibbelink] delivers a feature that is resolutely old-fashioned in its use of cels. Surprisingly, it's not terrible.

The Plot and character development are the bottoms of the barrels, but nice animated film
